You don’t have to pound nails to be a part of providing safe, affordable, decent housing for partner families. Habitat ReStore in Elgin sells new and used building materials directing the proceeds to fund the building of houses. So, your volunteering at ReStore has a direct impact on supporting Habitat for Humanity Northern Fox Valley.
All merchandise is donated
We sell both new and used building materials that have been donated by homeowners, retailers, manufacturers and distribution centers.
ReStore Goals
At the ReStore we strive to meet three goals: 1) Keep items from going to landfills by recycling the products to the next generation of customer that have a need for it; 2) Provide values to our customers by pricing items 50% to 75% off the listed retail pricing; 3) Provide funds for building homes to eliminate sub-standard houses.
Volunteer Opportunities
At ReStore there are a variety volunteer opportunities with our teams such as: proactive procurement, donation pick up, receiving/warehousing, merchandise processing and sales/cashiering. You can also volunteer on our Special Ops team that plans for ReStore participation in home shows and local festivals.
Fit your volunteer time to your schedule
ReStore is open Wednesday through Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Once a week, volunteer for a half day or full day and find the satisfaction in being a very definite part of providing safe, affordable, decent housing in Northern Fox Valley.
To become a ReStore volunteer
Attend a volunteer orientation meeting 10:00 AM on the 1st or 3rd Saturday of each month at the ReStore located at 800 N. State (Rte 31) Elgin IL. Follow this link for directions.
