Corporate sponsorships provide a way for businesses to identify themselves with Habitat for Humanity’s name and logo, to participate as active partners in our mission, and to be publicly recognized for their efforts. Corporate sponsor designation is reserved for those businesses that contribute both funding or building materials and volunteer hours. Sponsorship can be a strategy for businesses to: • broaden their positive public image, • maintain a strong employee environment, • foster customer loyalty and • give back to the community. Corporate involvement is defined in an agreement of understanding engaging the sponsor and Habitat to partner on projects mutually deemed appropriate. Businesses contribute funds and mobilize volunteers. Habitat selects the site and the family, plans the project including the budget and schedule, purchases materials and supervises construction. Corporations can sponsor an entire house a room or a build day. For information on a sponsorship option, please contact Bill Klaves by email or by phone at 847-836-1432 or just fill out the form at the end of this page and Bill will contact you. Business Build Days A corporate build day is a great team building opportunity and, of course, a significant contribution to Habitat for Humanity. A Build Day Crew consists of 10-12 people; no specific skills are required, just a willingness to learn and work hard to accomplish the day's construction goal. Each site has an experienced project director providing on-the-job training. Construction volunteers are asked to wear boots or thick-soled shoes, gloves and clothing that is appropriate for the work and weather conditions. Loose clothing is dangerous around power tools. Corporations are asked to contribute $2,500 for each Business Build Day to cover the costs of that day’s construction materials. Room Sponsorship Room sponsorships are available with a donation of $10,000 toward the construction costs of a home. Room sponsorships entitle the donating corporation to 5 Build Days, recognition with signage at the construction site, recognition in our publications and on this site with a link to a corporate web page. House Sponsorships House sponsorships are available with a donation of $75,000 toward the construction costs of a home. They entitle the donating corporation to 10 Build Days, recognition with signage at the construction site, and recognition in our publications and on this site with a link to a corporate web page. Structured Team Building Habitat for Humanity also offers a unique structured Team Building Day for corporate sponsors. The setting is a Habitat for Humanity construction site and the participants help build a home which, in and of itself, is a great team building experience. But in an addition, an individualized program can be conducted by Dr. Chris Fernandez (Ph. D. Organization Behavior, Case Western Reserve University) who currently teaches at Benedictine University in the field of Management and Organizational Behavior. The day’s program will focus on teambuilding, conflict management, giving and receiving feedback, team problem solving and decision-making. Prior to the build day, a representative from the company will have the opportunity to discuss current work place issues with Dr. Fernandez who will then use the information to focus the day’s activities. Upon arrival on site, the group will receive instruction from Dr. Fernandez. Throughout the day, the group will have the opportunity to put the presented concepts into actual use in building a Habitat house. At the end of the day, Dr. Fernandez will conduct a debriefing session where the group can review the concepts, focus on what worked and what didn’t, and specifically what learnings can be taken back to the work environment.
